No BitchAssNess

"That's a VERY Contagious Sickness thats out here in our community"-Diddy

I cannot describe the very essence of this word. I mean where was this phrase 4 years ago?? Diddy thank you.

BITCHASSNESS! ARGH!!!

First and foremost, IMO this term really doesn't apply to women. Why? Cause the very basis of the word Bitch is female. Therefore, expressing that women has bitchassness is like being repetitive. It's inherent(Thanks D) in a woman's being.

NOW MALES, This term is, can, and will be applied to you. It was made for you.
Even before the term was released, I have had experiences and seen others with experiences with males with this disease. It's frustrating to spend your time getting to know a male, and find out he has this diease. It it was up to me, you all would be stamped on your FOREHEAD! That way folks can avoid the time your bitchassness sucks from folks lives.

It's running rampant. Just to illustrate my point:

  • You are not about anything! . I mean its one thing if you do not do shyt, but then the nerve of you to complain about it?? WTF. Get it together, change it ! Adjust your situation. Why I got to hear how bad your situation is?? BITCHASSNESS
  • Why you lying? I mean just lying about little stuff. Is that your Range Rover? Yes. ----Two Weeks later---- Why your cousin always pushing your car? That was my cousin, I mean its really the family car, we all use it. Why are you lyng? Was that necessary? BITCHASSNESS
  • Inconsiderate MOFOS! If you ask someone to go out in the early evening 7pmish directly after work, go to FREE MOVIE, then say bye with no meal ?? Not only are you cheap, you have BITCHASSNESS!
  • I cannot think for myself. When you let your dudes/ companions dictate your actions. i.e You see an attractive person, who may not be attractive to your friends. You let you friends tear he/she down, and even though you really digged her/him, you let go. OR you even when you are a relationship this can occur.
  • If see an attractive person in the club, been drinking, and you continually harass this person, and do not even buy them a drink! You breath smells like a humdinger, but naaaaaaaw. You gotta chase them around the club and not even buy them a drink. BITCHASSNESS!
  • Bitchassness could be when you a smashing more than one person, catch a STD know you burning, but when one the people you were sexing calls and tell you, they burning, YOU BLAME them for burning you! BITCHASSNESS.

Watch out! It's coming for ya!!

Survival Guide

10 THINGS TO HELP YOU BE THE BEST YOU EVER:
A YOUNG BLACK WOMAN'S GUIDE TO SURVIVAL

Written by: Dana Orr, Esq.

10. BE SELECTIVE IN FRIENDSHIPS.
Friendship is not charity, it's a give-and-take relationship. Your friends should be people you love, admire and respect. Don't be afraid to expand, or change your circle of friends. As you get older, you may head in a different direction than those you once considered your "best friends forever". As you evolve and mature, you may grow apart from friends who no longer fulfill you
- it's ok
! Hold this person in your heart, but be true to yourself when devoting time, energy and emotion to anyone you seriously consider a "friend".

9. RE-INVENT YOURSELF WHEN NECESSARY.

Self-reinvention is a way to constantly reflect and assess your goals and priorities in your personal, academic and professional life. The concept of self-reinvention allows you to reconsider your lifestyle and, at any given moment, change a particular course of action. The beauty of this process is that you don't have to beat yourself up about behavior you consider undesirable. You should actually feel great that you have enough sense to realize the error of your ways (whatever they may be), and can spontaneously commit to change. Congratulations - you just solved a problem!

8. PROTECT YOURSELF.

HIV/AIDS is the #1 killer of black women ages 19-27 in America . You are not corny or lame if you insist on an HIV test before having sex with someone. In fact, you're stupid to give up responsibility for your health and put your life in someone else's hands. Please DO NOT FALL FOR the age-old trick: "Look at me - what am I supposed to do now?!" All men masturbate. Politely tell your partner that he should focus on "self- love" until you're certain that he deserves to enter your temple.

7. JEALOUSY IS A WASTED EMOTION.

People who love themselves and recognize their worth are unable to be jealous of others. Why? You should be so preoccupied with loving yourself and changing what you don't like, you have no time to worry about what others are doing. Being jealous of someone is a waste of energy. You cannot control other people and the choices they make, or the luck they have. Weak people let other's circumstances affect their self-love and/or self-worth. Resist the temptation to be envious, as it will get you nowhere. If anything, let other people motivate you to achieve certain goals for yourself.

6 . CARRY YOURSELF LIKE A LADY.

Embrace that which makes you a woman, and by all means, take advantage of the privileges that we have. Force men around you to treat you with the respect they would their mother, aunt or sister. Insist that your doors be opened for you, order your food first in a restaurant, and sit in the front seat if you are the only female in the car. There is nothing wrong with being "pleasantly demanding". Along with the privilege of womanhood comes a certain responsibility. Being a true "lady" means you exhibit manners that would make your grandmother proud, your clothes are tasteful and appropriate for your age, and your hair and nails are always clean. These little things make a big difference in how you are viewed by outsiders, and the quality of men that you attract.

5. KEEP UP WITH CURRENT EVENTS.

Staying in touch with what's going on in the world is very important. Not only is it important to be aware of national and global issues, it makes you a lot more interesting to others because you always have something to talk about. It doesn't take much to watch the news, read the newspaper online, or buy an issue of TIME magazine or Newsweek. Don't forget - parents and teachers are a great source of information on current events, and would love to have a conversation with you about something "serious".

4. Travel.

Do you have a passport? If not, get one. Before you are saddled with the responsibilities of a job and a family, take advantage of your freedom and travel. Instead of buying a new outfit, buy a plane ticket. See other parts of the world and observe other cultures. More importantly, have fun! Plan a trip with a friend to a social event in another city, a beach on an island, or a city in a foreign country. Capture your memories with photos or in a diary (or a blog). You will cherish them forever.

3. Be Proud To Be Black.

Black culture and heritage is based on strength, perseverance, and rich talents. You should have an overwhelming sense of cultural pride - as black people, we are so very special. Don't EVER feel as if you aren't equal to another person simply because you're black. If you have any question as to the importance of black people to our society, or how smart, beautiful, talented, funny and fascinating we are, start reading. Watch old movies. Read plays. Go see plays. Buy tickets for dance and musical performances. Seek opportunities to study academic topics involving, or related to, black people. Talk to your relatives that lived through some of the historical events you've heard about. Get on the Internet and study people with whom you're familiar. Keep in mind, black pride doesn't mean exclusion of others. It is most impressive when you seek to educate other cultures about the beauty and greatness of being black.

2. Have a Cause.

As long as you're here, it is your duty as a human being to help make the world a better place. Let your natural talents and passion lead you to an issue that keeps your attention, and to which you can commit your time and money. Get involved with groups that already exist. If your particular cause is new or unique, start your own group and make your friends join. Helping others is an easy way to feel good about yourself, and invest in the future of your community.

1. Love Yourself.

This is #1 and most important, yet challenging, mission to accomplish. Self-love is critical to survival at any age, and may be quite a personal journey. Loving yourself means recognizing, developing and honoring a sense of self-worth. Loving yourself means you have zero tolerance for anyone or anything that doesn't love you and respect you. Loving yourself also means you must treat yourself well, simply because no one else will do it for you.

Woes is me! My First Pang of this Recession

Today is Saturday.
I love my weekends, because I can do what ever I want. Today, I want to go shopping.

I CANNOT GO. Why? This is not the best use of my money. Instead, I made a mortgage payment and resolved to re-wear something in my closet.

It is a shame, when all my thoughts circulate around paying bills and cutting budget. HONESTLY this Shyt sucks. How can 8 years pass, and our economy friggin slip into a recession? Right at the pinnacle of my Buppieness??!

The other day, I was discussing compensation with my boss. She told me about the theory of how young people in corporate America, are not too crazy about receiving stock options, and rather receive their money upfront.

You know what, can you blame us? I have about 2000 shares in my company. When I joined it was $17 bucks, but did not get approved for me until it was 22. The highest I saw it was $35. And now its worth $22 bucks. WTF am I suppose to do with that? GIVE ME CASH, so I can pay off my friggin student loans, or a car note. I am all about being debt free, and stock options in this day in age, are not friggin helping me.

Student LOANS make me sick. You know what, I am going to do them, how the government does me. You get your money, when I feel like paying ya. It almost like a waste of time to really pay this ish. I am planning to be back in school for my masters in Fall 09. Accuring more debt, and more interest. PLUS this ish is like outrageous amout, when you are coming out of school. Its hard to relate it to ish in your life now. Mortage/Rent: Thats cool because you see how a roof over your head everday is important. Car payment, thats cool because you need to get back and forth. But student loans....I mean a education is good and all, but really how you going to charge me for something I have to do to get a job and money. I have to get a job and money to be a tax paying citzen. Its almost like damn if you do, damned if you dont!

Really, what is killing me is the fact that I do not see soo much of my check. I only see about 60% of paycheck. The rest goes to shyt, thats never going to help me, such as social security.
You should have a choice to pay your SS or your Student loans, through government deductions. I would quickly raise my hand for them to deduct their loan payments instead. Being that I will not recieve any benefits from Social Security.

I am so depressed, my buppie lifestyle is on halt. I have made the decision not to make any major purchases (including hair, clothes, home improvements) untill 2009. (I dont know about clothes part, but I have to try!)

I have signficantly cut my entertainment budget as well, which is normal anyway, because the the weather has changed, but now its like I can really only go out when its free before 11. No drinks at the BAR and Fellas I aint going to be mad if you aint buying! It would show me you are fiscally irresponsible !

So due to this recession bull shyt, I have to go out in old a$$ clothes thirsty? Thus, I do not even go out anymore. Then Im stuck in the crib, which would be ok. I have A WII, TV right? There never seems to be anything good on TV and dammit, I am tired of playing the same wii games. CANNOT BUY more Games.

In times, like these the only things you should spend your money on is FOOD, SHELTER, Transport to the job. Everything else is frivolous! What type of life is this??!!!

More Blogger Comments

Passed on from the Close Confidant.....

I found the below comments taken from the SNL skit with Tina Fey/Amy Poehler interesting:

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."
* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well-rounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the firstblack President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drivethat registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as Constitutional Lawprofessor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district withover 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and HumanServices committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing astate of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on ForeignAffairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, youdon't have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city counciland 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months asthe governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified tobecome the country's second highestranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a realChristian.
* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left yourdisfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including theproper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no otheroption in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teendaughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in aprestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't representAmerica's.
* If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWIconviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaskafrom the USA, your family is extremelyadmirable.

OK, much clearer now.

80/20 Rule

Damn Damn Damn.
Don't we all hate that 80/20 rule?

The Rule: In our relationships, our partner is most likely only able to offer 80% of what we need. There are times when we will find someone who fills in the wholes, offering the other 20%…and because it’s been missing for so long, you think you’ve finally found what you truly need. But be careful taking risks of cheating, or leaving your 80%…because what you will be left with, is that 20%. Obviously this is no where near as fulfilling as being with someone who offers 80%.

Tell me your 80/20 Story!

Oh Man SNL.....Gotta Love It!

Strictly Platonic?

I truly value the relationships I have with people. I am one of those people who meticulously picks how close I will let people get to me. I like definition, and once a relationship is defined in my head, I do not cross those lines. But damn, I have really GREAT Male Buppie Friends. Dudes with focus, humor, and not bad on the eye either.

It makes me think. How many of us have successfully crossed the line, and made more than friendship with a friend? You can call it: Fuck Buddy, Friends with benefits, whatever.

I don't think this works. It almost always complicates things. This is one of the main reasons, why I have definitive friends. You either surely my male friend/homie. Or you are a male I am entertaining either to get to know, or smash, or to eventually end up on the homie list. Until you are put in the right catergory, you are essentially in LALA Land.

Lets make distinctions here, because it can become confusing.

If you just met a chick and you are building a rapport and decide its going to be a smash and dinner thing. This is perfectly acceptable as you defined the relationship from the onslaught.

However, if you had a female friend for sometime, told her about you smashing, or caring or talking about other women, and up and decide one day you want to smash your best female buddy!
NOT A GOOD IDEA!!

GAME . . . Get Some! What Women Really Want??

Fellow Bups, the weather is changing outside. Time to find the person to keep you warm! Right?!

I consider myself a well rounded buppie. I am not Gabrielle Union, nor am I a Bust it Baby. But often times the very few ( little to none) times, in which I am approached by a male, I always get a goon, guber dude. I do not know why? I do exude Buppiness to the T, and know for some that can be intimidating. Never does the decent male buppie with a bit of swag approach me. WOES is me... But anyway, I came across this excerpt of this Kenya Moore's Book.

I know you guys know this already, but us women laugh behind your back at you tactics of courting. In general the feedback varies from OVERALL CORNBALL to a Woman being INSTANTLY OPEN!

"GAME . . . Get Some! What Women Really Want
Who better to coach a guy on how to get the girl of his dreams than a beautiful woman? It's a slam dunk for actress and former Miss USA Kenya Moore in her new sports-themed book, Game, Get Some! Among her game rules for the first month of dating: Don't be too available when she calls. Don't call a woman more than twice a week after meeting her. Don't reveal your salary. Never complain or point out things you don't like about her. Moore explains, "I believe there are some great men out there, but they may have good intentions, but they don't have any technique. The book is my way to give them a road map to showing their true intentions in a relationship…"
"Game Rules" for the First Month
It's crucial not to commit a penalty when you first meet someone.
  • Don't call a woman more than three times without getting a return call
  • Don't call a woman more than twice a week after meeting her
  • Don't send multiple "unanswered" emails or text messages
  • Don't spend more than 15 minutes talking to her in initial conversations
  • Don't tell her your life story when getting acquainted
  • Don't share your baby mama drama with her
  • Don't reveal your salary
  • Don't introduce her to your entire family
  • Don't be too available when she calls
  • Don't complain about your life; always be positive
  • Don't take her as your date to a wedding
  • Never complain or point out things you don't like about her

How To Get Her Open

  • Get her to like you and like your company. "Remain confident and show no signs of intimidation."
  • Always compliment her. "Let her know if she is looking extra fine." [LOOK DO NOT BE CORNY WITH IT. ]
  • Women love affection. "Whether that means holding her hand every now and then, or giving her a tight and sensual hug, make sure you focus is always on her. [DO NOT TOUCH HER UNLESS SHE TOUCHES YOU FIRST!]
  • Keep in contact with short messages, texts or emails. "Do not attempt to write a book on her cell phone. Just a, 'Hey, I miss the way you smell,' will drive her insane." [WORKS EVERYTIME!]
  • Don't be corny. No mixed tapes or CDs at first. "You can cleverly make a tape and play it while she is visiting . . . but if you are just getting to know her, try buying a CD of her favorite artist. But no mixed tapes, they reveal too much."
  • Pay attention to what she says she likes. "This small show of interest will gain points quickly."
  • Go places she wants to go. "Go out of your way to plan something that she likes." [DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH LETTING HER PLAN THE DATE, STEP UP BE A MAN AND PLAN THE DATE]
  • Call her frequently at first. "Call her in the beginning of the relationship then abruptly not call her for a week. . . if she gets used to you and you become predictable, she may lose interest." [YEP!]
  • Never forget her birthday. "If you want to turn a woman completely off, then forget her birthday. To be safe, plan ahead." " [OH THIS HAPPENED TO ME. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE WAS IMMEDIATELY CUT OFF!]

A Decent Analogy from Steve Harvey

Quite often in the morning I listen to the Steve Harvey Show and I must say I enjoy it. The one thing that I particularly appreciate about Steve Harvey is the fact that when it comes to relationships he tells it like it is! ESPECIALLY to the WOMEN! He does not sugar coat anything for the ladies and points out things that we should know about the male psyche and where a lot of women make common mistakes when dealing with men. And these common mistakes are ones they make over and over and then wonder why they still don't have the man they so desperately want. He was also saying how men can only get away with what you let them and will only push the envelope as far as you will allow as a woman. Today was a particularly interesting show because a male listener wrote in talking about the "game" of men and it spurred up some interesting dialogue. Steve went back to a lot of the common complaints he gets from women about men and put it in a spiritual perspective.

Women are always saying they are doing what they should to get a man looking in the right places and such when in actuality they are not. Then they go asking GOD why haven't you sent me my soulmate yet. GOD is similar to a football coach. He says run down 5 yards do a lil jook and jive then cut over 10 yards. The player says ok. So then the player goes out runs down 5 yards does a lil jook and jive and then cuts over only 6 yards and goes hollering "I'm open!" The play doesn't work because the player doesn't follow the coaches instructions. And the coach is like wait, wait did you not hear what I said? So they run the play again and the player starts well again and at the end runs 8 yards instead of 10 and guess what....the play still doesn't work. Well in the cases we are talkin about women are wondering why their play hasn't worked but GOD is saying I told you not to sleep with that man yet. OR I told you not to start talking to that same man you been messing with again just because this other thing aint work. These mistakes that women make are equivalent to not following the coach's play instructions and then they wonder why GOD hasn't sent them their perfect man yet. He may have sent him and you just misread the play!

You know what Steve.... I think this is a GREAT analogy!

I Thought We Had An Understanding?!!

So I was talking to a friend about his relationship with a woman he was seeing and he explained to me that he had to end it. He said that she started asking about when they were going to be together, officially. He was perplexed by this and exclaimed "I told her I didn't want to be with anyone! I thought we had an understanding." I know this guy so I know he probably treated this woman really well even though he didn't want to be with her.

I explained the situation to my best friend and she was saying there were certain things men do and say which are misinterpreted by women. (At times men go through the same emotional misunderstandings but I believe it happens more with women because we are just more emotional beings.) A man may treat you a certain way and you may think that you are the leading lady, however, he is on a completely different page on how the relationship is defined. After all he did tell you "I'm really not trying to be in a relationship." But fellas when you say this ask yourself a few of these questions....

Do you hold her at night after you have sex?

Do you take her out?

Do you kiss her sometimes just to be affectionate?

Do you kiss her hello and goodbye?

Do you question her about what she does?

If you do any of these things this is what a LOT of women may think: We are working towards something. He likes me and enjoys having me around. We are in a RELATIONSHIP! He says he doesn't want a relationship right now but I think he will want one with me in time."

I mean can you honestly blame this woman for thinking this? You say one thing but you do something completely different. When men and woman have a casual relationship they usually both keep it casual and understand that there are certain things that you don't do, say or ask about. So after getting another woman's point of view I explained to my friend that he may have been a bit misleading with this woman. He understood but stood by the fact that even though he is not interested in being in a relationship he is still going to treat any woman that he deals with with the utmost respect. And I honestly could not argue with that.

Any thoughts.....

Enough Is ENOUGH!

When you truly love someone when is enough, ENOUGH?! This has been an issue with many of my friends lately and, honestly, with myself as well. When you have truly had your heart broken, not your pride by getting played or anything like that but you are heart broken, how do you know when to just walk away, say fuck it and chalk it up for experience or to work hard and try to make the love in your life work. This seems much easier for someone to evaluate when they are on the outside looking into a situation. I find myself honestly telling my friends, man leave him alone why are you still dealing with the same thing you have dealt with for 3, 4, and sometimes 5 years. We are too young for that! But when you invest time and emotion in someone for so long I find that it is extremely difficult to give up on it and move on.

Some of my closest friends and I were discussing this and it has dawned on me that many people that have this dilemma are not even in love with a person anymore. They are in love with the "idea" of being in love with that person. So when there is nothing at all good left to pull out of that situation and nothing is changing why stay? Even when you do see changes how do you know if they are temporary or permanent? A friend of mine gave some answers that have helped me with my personal situation and I felt were valuable to pass on....

1) TRUST!- When trust has been violated in a relationship it is hard to restore but not impossible. Often it seems that you have to really look deep and evaluate if you can trust a man again. But the important thing is not to have bitter black bitch syndrome. If you are going to forgive him you MUST DO THAT! Whether he cheated, lied, or hurt you deeply in some other way if you are going to give him another chance you must let it go! And if you can't let it go you must let him go.

2) Do you honestly have anything left to give? When you are so exhausted with dealing with someone even if you are in love with them sometimes you have to ask yourself this question. A close friend of mine was, and probably still is, in love with someone that is not good for them. It is often a challenge to just say to yourself there is nothing else I can do with this situation even though I have invested MADD time in it. So let me cut it off now to prevent any further heartache.

3)Does this person need to be CUT OUT OF YOUR LIFE! Like seriously! I have learned the hard way that when you break up with someone often you can not be friends. This can be difficult if the breakup was amicable but at times it is needed. I have first hand experience dealing with this drama. I had to stop being so dependent on my former significant other so I could GET OVER HIM! It is still a work in progress....

This was all very helpful when shared with me but still it is difficult when you honestly love someone to let them GO! So now the decision must be made. Should you stay and FIGHT to make your love work? I mean if you are truly successful in your fight you have built a solid relationship....right? Aren't trials the true test of a relationship anyway? Or has this one just simply run its course?

Jesus was a Community Organizer

I was super offended on how Giuliani and Sarah Barracuda talked about Community Organizing.

I wasn't the only one!

Alaskonomics

I really wish people would read before they jump and decide they wanna switch and vote for someone who spews lies out of their mouth! I am so sick of the media talking about how many people, particularly white women, are jumping on the Sarah Palin train to hell! McCain has made several campaign stops and all the people are simply cheering, "Sarah!, Sarah!, Sarah!" Oh please stop chanting and read...

Sarah Palin's Alaskonomics

By MICHAEL KINSLEY Tue Sep 9, 2:55 AM ET

Sarah Palin thinks she is a better American than you because she comes from a small town, and a superior human being because she isn't a journalist and never lived in Washington and likes to watch her kids play hockey. Although Palin praised John McCain in her acceptance speech as a man who puts the good of his country ahead of partisan politics, McCain pretty much proved the opposite with his selection of a running mate whose main asset is her ability to reignite the culture wars. So maybe Governor Palin does represent everything that is good and fine about America, as she herself maintains. But spare us, please, any talk about how she is a tough fiscal conservative.

Palin has continued to repeat the already exposed lie that she said, "No, thanks," to the famous "bridge to nowhere" (McCain's favorite example of wasteful federal spending). In fact, she said, "Yes, please," until this project became a symbol and political albatross.

Back to reality. Of the 50 states, Alaska ranks No. 1 in taxes per resident and No. 1 in spending per resident. Its tax burden per resident is 21/2 times the national average; its spending, more than double. The trick is that Alaska's government spends money on its own citizens and taxes the rest of us to pay for it. Although Palin, like McCain, talks about liberating ourselves from dependence on foreign oil, there is no evidence that being dependent on Alaskan oil would be any more pleasant to the pocketbook.

Alaska is, in essence, an adjunct member of OPEC. It has four different taxes on oil, which produce more than 89% of the state's unrestricted revenue. On average, three-quarters of the value of a barrel of oil is taken by the state government before that oil is permitted to leave the state. Alaska residents each get a yearly check for about $2,000 from oil revenues, plus an additional $1,200 pushed through by Palin last year to take advantage of rising oil prices. Any sympathy the governor of Alaska expresses for folks in the lower 48 who are suffering from high gas prices or can't afford to heat their homes is strictly crocodile tears.

As if it couldn't support itself, Alaska also ranks No. 1, year after year, in money it sucks in from Washington. In 2005 (the most recent figures), according to the Tax Foundation, Alaska ranked 18th in federal taxes paid per resident ($5,434) but first in federal spending received per resident ($13,950). Its ratio of federal spending received to federal taxes paid ranks third among the 50 states, and in the absolute amount it receives from Washington over and above the amount it sends to Washington, Alaska ranks No. 1.

Under the state constitution, the governor of Alaska has unusually strong powers to shape the state budget. At the Republican Convention, Palin bragged that she had vetoed "nearly $500 million" in state spending during her two years as governor. This amounts to less than 2% of the proposed budget. That's how much this warrior for you, the people, against it, the government, could find in wasteful spending under her control.

One thing Barack Obama and McCain disagree on is an oil windfall-profits tax. McCain is against it, on the theory that it is a tax and therefore bad and also on the theory that it would discourage domestic production. Obama is for it, on the theory that if oil companies can make a nice profit when oil sells for $50 per bbl., they can still make a nice profit when it sells at more than $100, even if the government takes a bit and spreads the money around to those who are hurting from higher oil prices.

Although Palin's words side with McCain in this dispute, her actions side with Obama. Her major legislative accomplishment has been to revamp Alaska's windfall-profits tax in order to increase the state's take. Alaska calls it a "clear and equitable share" tax. The state assumes that extracting oil from the tundra costs about $25 per bbl. and takes as much as 75% of the difference between that and the sale price.

Why is a windfall-profits tax good for Alaska but not for the U.S.? Well, it's obvious, isn't it? People in Alaska are better than people in the rest of the U.S. They're more American. Although there are small towns and farms and high school hockey teams in the lower 48, there are fewer down here, per capita, than in Alaska. And there are many more journalists and pollsters and city dwellers and other undesirables who might benefit if every American had the same right to leech off the government as do the good citizens of Sarah Palin's Alaska.

No Way. No How. No McCain

Written By: Angela Natalja Maxwell

1. McCain voted against "Equal Pay for Equal Work" for women in the workforce. When asked about his stance, he said that women simply "need more training" instead of more money. Currently, women make-on average- .60 on the dollar compared to men in the same positions.

2. McCain voted against Joe Biden's "Violence Against Women" act that funded shelters, support groups and rehabilitation for victims of domestic violence and abuse. He said that the funds requested for this act could better be used on bigger issues in America. I guess the money was better suited for an unjustified war.

3. McCain voted against the MLK holiday and deemed it "unnecessary as a government holiday". ENOUGH SAID.

4. McCain is against Roe vs. Wade. He said that he plans to appoint enough Supreme Court Justices to make abortion illegal. Mind you, the Republicans don't care much for medicaid but want to force women with unwanted pregnancies to be mothers who will likely have no insurance and, if he has anything to say about it, no medicaid. In the same breath he failed to explain why he did not support birth control being covered by insurance while he was all for Viagra being covered. YES FOLKS! Birth control isn't covered BUT Viagra IS because of buffoons like McCain.

5. McCain is bringing back the DRAFT! That's right folks! When he kills off all the current troops and no one wants to voluntarily sign up for the Republican's biggest money maker- WAR- then he his going go after our beautiful little boys- mine is 3 years old and the Republicans CAN'T HAVE HIM! If you are not filthy rich, your son is going 1st and then we will REALLY have something to cry and shake about!

6. McCain, who never fails to remind us that he is prisoner of war, DID NOT support the Montgomery GI BILL- TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who are not familiar with this bill, it provides funding to support US veterans when they return with housing, education, etc. I guess because he has always been wealthy and didn't need it so he didn't feel like anyone else did either. Ugh! McCain also failed to support investigations and revision of health care for disabled veterans and the health care systems that support them like VA hospitals.

7. McCain has voted against raising minimum wage 19 times. I guess if you have NEVER made minimum wage in your entire silver spooned life, you have no sympathy for people who are trying support their families with minimum wage as prices for food, clothing, gas and other necessities continue to rise because of things McCain DOES support like big oil, war, and higher taxes for the "un rich" because the rich "worked hard to achieve the American dream and shouldn't be taxed for their effort" (May 2008).

8. John McCain supports $200 billion in new tax breaks for corporate America, $1 billion alone for just eight of the largest companies, but no relief for 100 million American families who are on the verge of losing their homes and can not afford the daily necessities of life- let alone health care or saving for education and retirement. Oil companies post the biggest profits in history,a half trillion dollars in the last five years, and McCain wants to give them another $4 billion in tax breaks (from which he stands to benefit I'm sure).

9. McCain has repeatedly voted against incentives for renewable energy: solar, wind, biofuels. Solar energy developments could have richly benefited his state of Arizona- but why care about your state and constituents, right?

10. I'll make the last one light and personal since John McCain's new ads directly refers to Obama's beautiful daughters as "brats". John McCain cheated on and left is disabled wife to marry his plastic surgery poster child mistress Cindy Lou (who still hasn't released her tax returns so we can see how much he personally gained from this war along with Dubbya and his Dick) which is oddly enough how Cindy Lou's mom stole her father from his first wife. Talk about family values. We won't be seeing genuine warm and fuzzy family moments next week at the RNC. If Cindy could feel her face, she would probably laugh it all off as circumstance. His children from his first marriage don not communicate with him AT ALL and he has rarely been seen with his adopted daughter from Bangladesh because we all know how Repubs feel about foreign kids- they don't. Basically, McCain support the war that we are going to "win" though I have no idea what winning means (getting control of their oil? killing them all?), made fun on more than one occasion of new wars he is interested in by saying things like "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb,
bomb IRAN" and has also made threats against Russia. He would be as destructive, if not more, than Bush as POTUS[President of the U.S].

Knowledge is power.

Field Day with Palin

If you are not a avid internet reader like me, then you certainly have been missing out, on these reactions to Republican VP Pick Sarah Palin. I was reading, Anderson 360. These particular comments stood out to me. Check out the comments section for your self.

I’m curious. Will Sarah Pallin, if the Republicans win in November receive less pay as the first female Vice President since McCain “opposes a Senate bill that seeks equal pay for women because it would lead to more lawsuits?” I am also curious as to what Pallin’s take on this would be. Do you think that the Republicans will be able to provide her with enough “education and training” before they start campaigning together?

In my opinion, I believe the only reason McCain decided to choose Palin as his running mate was to gain in the popular vote, and to try to steal away some of Clinton’s deligates. This should be a wake up call to America. McCain has shown the American people that he is not necessarily concerned with the problems in America, rather, he is more interested in his own agenda. As an American woman I am offended by his choice. The reason I am offended is because I do not believe McCain picked Palin for her intelligence, rather, he picked her for her gender. Anyone with intelligence should be offended by McCain’s decision. And to answer the question if Palin would have been picked if she were a man, my answer is no. Further, the fact that this question is even being asked should also be a wake up call for Americans.

As a pro-life, educated, professional woman, I am so proud of McCain’s choice of Palin. It is quite obvious that the media and many of the liberal elites are threatened by her. The Midwestern states will matter more than the predictable liberal states such as NY, CA etc. in this election and I think many of you will be surprised!! Not a single person in my office is voting for Obama and most of the office is composed of female Democrats! The choice of Palin today caused a major buzz in the office, in fact, in the entire building. Average, hard-working Americans with traditional values identify more with Palin than with Obama. McCain was brilliant in picking her. I suggest that the media and liberal elites spend more time in the Midwest to understand why Palin will appeal to many blue-collar Democratic women. Go McCain/Palin. p.s. Real feminists don’t kill babies!!

Republicans Think we are Stupid!

These days, its really like they are just catching the Repubs being inconsistent with their platforms! I love it because they make for very interesting youtube videos!

What If Bristol Palin Were Black?

Original Here

What If Bristol Palin Were Black?

Christian-right leaders and conservative stalwarts have praised the decision of Bristol Palin, the daughter of Governor Sarah Palin, to carry her child to term. She is 17 and conceived this child out of wedlock. Now imagine she wasn't the daughter of a prominent Republican politician but an average person. Now imagine she was black.
What do you think conservatives would have to say about her? 'Typical, urban youth with no sense of responsibility raised with loose morals who plans to depend on the state to take care of her child.' You know it. It's not within dispute. That's exactly what they would say.
Barack Obama has told everyone to lay off this because it is a personal, family matter. Yes, but it also has public policy ramifications. Governor Palin is for abstinence only education. Well, that obviously didn't work.
Has she learned her lesson? Will she now amend her policy position on this matter given her personal record of failure in implementing this ridiculous stance?
Notice I am not blaming Bristol. Quite the opposite. People like me are the ones that defend the Bristols of the world. It is conservatives like James Dobson, Rush Limbaugh and yes, Governor Palin who usually attack people who find themselves in Bristol's situation. They demand a dogmatic adherence to moral strictures and chastise and belittle women who have children out of wedlock. Especially if they are women of color.
Which brings us back to Obama. Do you think the Republicans would lay off of Obama if his 17 year-old daughter had gotten pregnant out of wedlock? You know the answer to that question. Everyone does.
'This is what the permissive liberal attitude gets you. If you allow your children to think everything is acceptable, they have no boundaries. They wind up getting themselves in trouble like this. It's a predictable result of the liberal lifestyle.'
And that's before the subtle and not so subtle racial implications are brought into this. There is a constant double-standard of how black and white people and politicians are covered in this country. When a young black girl gets pregnant, she's looking to get money from welfare. When a young white woman gets pregnant, she made an unfortunate mistake and her family is being supportive in trying to help the make the best of it.
Cindy McCain was addicted to drugs and stole from her own charity to feed her addiction. Now what do you think the Republicans would have done if Michelle Obama had done that? How do you think the press would have covered it? You think they would have called it a simple mistake and moved on?
When presented with these examples, no matter who you are, you know in your heart that this double standard exists. All of this is not said to condemn Bristol Palin or Cindy McCain. This is to get you to think twice about your own assumptions about the next time you hear a story of a young African-American woman who got pregnant in the inner city or a minority who got addicted to drugs and committed a crime to feed that addiction.
There but for the grace of God go Bristol Palin and Cindy McCain.

I'm da Papee!!!
